What are Seeder, Leechers, Peers and Trackers? All these three (other then trackers) just explains the type of people using torrents. These words appear all the time in a torrent client and on the websites from where you get a torrent download. These four things completes a torrent process. Each one of them have significant value to make it possible to share a file. As explained in the video about the torrent on this site. Torrent technology makes it possible to upload and download at the same time. Most of you will wonder where you will download and to where you will upload? Not to get confused. Its all done automatically by the torrent file it self. Torrent file is all about P2P sharing (PEER 2 PEER) which means it connects different computers at one time for sharing the data and the torrent file make sure to distribute the required data equally to everyone whether they are downloading or uploading it.
Seeders:
Are the people who are uploading a file via torrent client.
Leechers:
Are the people downloading the file. That is why they are called leechers.
Peers:
These are the people who are no different then leechers but what makes them different is they are downloing right from your computer. You upload to the PEERS.
Trackers:
These are the FILES which contains all the information about the seeders and leechers and it helps in connecting different peers (computers) to each other acording to their downloading or uploading requirements.
